Why Military Men and Women Should Refuse Service in an Unconstitutional Syrian War

As Justice Stephen J. Field said long ago, “An unconstitutional Act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; it affords no protection; it creates no office; it is, in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed.”

I offer this up to the men and women in the armed forces. It is their right and duty to refuse service in any war in Syria. May God grant them the courage to follow their oaths of office.
