Anglicanism—The Religion Born of Adultery

Everyone knows the circumstances: Henry VIII wanted a divorce from Catherine of Aragon. Chancellor Thomas More protested and was executed. Bishop Fisher was executed. The Church declined. And Henry took over the Church, married Ann Bolelyn, and persecuted the remnant of Catholics. The result was the Reformation which Hillaire Belloc rightly called a “shipwreck”. And ever since, except for the faithful, such as Edward Campion, the World has lost its unifying religious and moral compass.
